Opening Night

Last night we went to Thunder's opening night! It was too much fun. I love the atmosphere in the arena. I swear OKC has the best fans in the Nation. I am so happy we finally have a NBA team. I know you are all shocked that I have gone to not one but two sporting events in a week. Don't worry no changed woman here. I am already dreading football on Saturday.

So Sweepy

For whatever reason I cannot sleep anymore. I am not sure what is going on. It makes me nervous to think I have three more months of sleepless nights before Charlotte arrives. I wonder if any other of my Mom friends experienced this too.

Last night I tossed and turned until I was getting so aggravated thinking even if I went to bed that second I will only get about 5.5 hours of sleep before work. I finally got up and went to the living room. Chloe Lane and Harold Eugene just love my sleepless nights. They want to eat late night snacks and share their deepest darkest secrets. Last nights secrets were very inapporiate on both accounts so I will spare you the details. We watched Private Practice (my pick), Real Housewives of Atalanta (Harold's pick), and Oprah for our sentimental Chloe.

After our shows are over it is 3:00 a.m.. At this point I will get about 3 hours of sleep before working a 12 hour day. Hopefully tonight I will have a wonderful nights sleep. One can only hope at this point.

All Good Things Must Come to An End

I was off work since last Thursday for Fall Break. If I ever doubted I would get too bored if I didn't have to work this long weekend proved to me that working is for the birds! I had a fun but restful 4 days off.

Wednesday night Mom and I had a girls night and went to the Carrie Underwood concert. It was too fun! Carrie Underwood is like a living barbie doll with amazing pipes. She is so darn cute and her wedding ring.... to. die. for.

Please excuse the awful quality. I only had my phone

Thursday the fun continues with my Mom. We had a great girls day that included lunch, shopping, manicure, and pedicure. I got the BEST news while I was getting pampered that my dear friend Steph was going to have her baby girls very soon! I was so excited to meet these girls. It was so fun to be with Steph and Kyle  during this journey. It began in Austin during our Spring Break trip when Steph's motherly instincts told her she was pregnant, to me becoming pregnant and asking her a million questions, to this moments knowing I get to meet these girls so soon.

Friday Josh and I went to Dallas for the Rangers vs. Yankees playoff game. We all know that I am not a sports fan but I thought this game would be well worth the trip. It exceeded my expectations. It was great!!! The atmosphere is like I have never experienced before. We stayed the night and got up the next morning and went to the JFK museum. Josh is somewhat obsessed with JFK's assassination. Well not somewhat obsessed more like clinically obsessed.

Josh during his museum tour. So pumped

Finally the day comes where I get to meet the Nevel girls!!! I was so anxious all weekend to get up to that hospital and see Steph and the girls. Stephanie was doing wonderful. She looked great (beside her ankles, he he) and was already sporting the face of a proud Mother. We got to see both Campbell and Sophie. They are so feminine and precious. The visit made me so anxious to meet our Charlotte Lillian. I cannot wait for Sophie, Campbell, and Charlotte to become great friends.

Mary, Me, and Steph with Miss Campbell

Well, I guess that sums my long weekend up. I am so sad it is over but already looking forward to Thanksgiving break in 25 days! But who is counting....

I Made It! Or Should I say, "We made it!"

The event last night went off without a hitch. All of my hard work paid off. Everything seemed to be very organized and ran smoothly. I am so thankful it is OVER! The best part about today is that not only is it a Friday for me because Fall Break but me and and Mom are going to Carrie Underwood tonight. I love so much that I have my Momma home and we are able to do these things. I will never take it for granted.

I only have two pictures from last night on my phone so I will share those now and dedicate a post later to the event.

The Big Show

I made it! Well, almost made it. My event is tonight. I feel very confident about it. At this point, I know if something goes wrong it is out of my control. I do pray for a very smooth event and also for some generous donations. Of course, I will post some pictures soon. Be thinking of me tonight!

Here is some news coverage we received last night.

I Should Have Listened

Yesterday I knew I was pushing myself too much regarding work. My body was telling me you are doing too much but I ignored the message. I got home from work yesterday and I soaked in the tub like a beached whale for over an hour. Every time the water would get cool I would drain it and start all over again. I was too tired to get out. In the middle of the night I got one of my classic headaches that keep me from getting any real rest. These headaches are brought on by stress, allergies, or a combo of both. I slept in to about 7:00a.m. (big whoop) and made myself get up and get ready feeling awful. About half way to work I got a big time nose bleed. The type that does not stop. I pulled over on the side of the highway took off my sweater and used it as a Kleenex. After it slowed down a bit I headed home to change, soak my clothes, and try to start the day over.

This is me headed back to work when I smaller nose bleed happened again. Luckily, I had Kleenex this time.

I am finally at work. My head, back, nose, feet, fingers, stomach, eyes, elbows, neck, knees, and ankles all killing me. Praying for a speedy Friday and a somewhat restful weekend.

Debbie Downer

I am taking a mental health break to complain. Skip this post if you are already in a bad mood because I am just a Debbie Downer today.

Since I have started my current job I have never been so overwhelmed. NEVER. I feel like every two minutes a new task is being thrown at me. I am single handling organizing a fundraising event this coming Tuesday. Luckily, God has blessed me with a co-worker that has taken time out of her day to help me with things so much. Thank you to Miss. Holli!

Work and handling the stressful environment has always created a huge problem for me. If you know me well, you know I do not handle stress successfully. I let it control all aspects of my life. Thankfully, I have a very understanding husband, family, friends, and dogs. That is until I take it too far. I am doing my best not to complain all the time. That is a daily struggle. Being pregnant has added a whole new spin on things. It is much harder to work like I used to but it has forced me to come home earlier and get rest. I miss the feeling of being rested, care free, not stressed, and having motivation to do anything that isn’t required of me.

Not sure the point of this post except just to take a moment to get my head off work and ask for your prayers to get me through Wednesday evening. The light at the end of the tunnel is I have fall break next Thursday and Friday!

I Dedicate This Post to Steph

My Mom was giving me a complex that nobody was commenting on my blog. I started wondering why I even spend the time writing on it even though I enjoy it. I expressed my insecurities to Steph yesterday and she wrote me this morning with the good news...... When I changed my blog to private it disabled the comments. So it isn't me! People do love me!!!

So, comment away. Puh-lease.

I have never been more afraid of labor until this evening. Josh and I went to Walgreen's to get my flu shot. I signed my papers and the pharmacist took me behind a screen to do the deed. Josh sat right outside waiting for me. I do not think I have ever embarrassed him more than I did tonight. He said he heard the pharmacist say, "You might feel a little priiiiii" and before he could spit out prick I screamed "OOOOOOOUUUUUUUUCH!" I mean this was not a mellow ouch this was a full fledged scream. I mean it was so loud the pharmacist jumped. We both were not anticipating my reaction. When I came out from the screen Josh was red in the face and people were walking over to see what happened.

If I cannot take a flu shot can you even imagine me during labor?! I mean come on, I am dead. I need to go ahead and apologize to my nurses, doctor and any other incident victims. If you were wondering, Josh is not included in the apologizes because he is half way responsible for my foul behavior. Basically, me and everyone else around me is screwed on Charlotte's birthday. I am sorry.

My Idea of Sunday Funday

I made Josh take me through the Krispy Kreme drive thru line when I saw the advertisment for pumpkin spice donuts. Can it get any better than that?! Don't thinks so. I got 4 pumpkin donuts and 8 of my favorite chocolate creame donuts.

Mums and Pumpkins Day

My favorite part of the entire year is here, FALL! I even chose to have our wedding in fall because I love the weather, colors, and the excitement of holidays just around the corner. I look forward to Mums and Pumpkins day yearly. It is the little things that matter the most. So today was MUMS AND PUMPKINS day! Here are some pictures of my fabulous day!

Thank you Josh!

Ready for the work to begin

Chloe always has to be the center of attention

Me at 20 weeks (Chloe can't be left out)

This is my favoite, my parents have a play house in their new back yard all ready for Charlotte to spend countless hours in. They have also joined me in Mums and Pumpkins Day. Charlotte is one lucky gal'!
