Teething Bites

Last night was hell. Charlotte was up all night with teething pain. When I say all night I mean all night. Here is a small snapshot of our night. Please keep your fingers crossed tonight is not a repeat.

Charlotte went to bed at 8:00 p.m and was up crying by 10:10 p.m.

We watched a movie at 1:00 a.m.

That didn't cause any zzzzz's so we tried a yummy bottle of apple juice around 1:30 a.m.

What do you know.... That didn't work either! I know what will do the trick. A car ride is the answer. Why didn't I think of this before? 2:15 a.m us girls hit the town.

Sound asleep in the car! I did it!!! I can get some rest. I put her in bed and she was out for ABOUT 30 DAMN MINUTES!!!!

Ridin' In Style

Boomer Baby

Charlotte has no other choice but to root for the Oklahoma Sooners. I am completely outnumbered by being a Poke fan but let's be frank here, I really do not care. I want the Sooners and the Pokes both to win and when they play each other I want them to tie. Can you tie in football games? I need to google that.

Every Friday night before Charlotte goes to bed she lays out her Sooner gear. As Charlotte is laying out her OU dress, panties, bow, and socks she tells me that all OU Cheerleaders do this. Charlotte also told me that is not unusual for her to have nightmares Friday night about forgetting to wear her bloomers when she is cheering. I have to reassure her that I will always pack an extra pair of panties for her and she seems to calm down. Such a drama queen.

A Fairtastic Day

Last weekend the Vaughn/White family loaded up the bus and headed to the OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR!!! This happens to be my very favorite time of the year. What other place in the world combines everyone of my favorite food items fried with adorable farm animals? Ummmmm.... Nowhere!

Here are some snapshots of the day. Yes, they are 99.9% animals because they are the cutest and when I was eating I was not going to pause for a picture.

No they did not know I was taking a picture and Yes they are my favorite things in the whole wide world

Update to Off Da Wagon Post

Last week, yes just last week, I wrote a post about how this week I was going to watch what I ate and get back on track. This is how it has gone. Aren't you proud?

Here is to a fresh start. Again.

Dear Santa

I have been a really good girl this year. I mean a really good girl.

Crock Pot Chicken N' Dumplings

Yes, you heard me right. Two of my favorite things; the crock pot and chicken n' dumplings. Actually, would that be three of my favorite things? Crock pot, chicken, and dumplings? Anyways... I haven't tried this recipe but I am going to get the ingredients this weekend and will let you know how it turns out.

Here’s the deets:
4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can chicken broth
1 onion diced (I used half of one)
1 tablespoon dried parsley
4 grands flaky refrigerator biscuits (I used five)
Put the chicken, butter, cream of chicken, chicken broth, parsley and onions in the crock pot and cook on high for four to six hours. Mine only needed five, and probably didn’t even need that much.
As the chicken cooks and gets tender, break it up with a spoon or fork, whatever.
Get your biscuits and cut them into nine pieces. I kind of rolled them into balls to ensure they stayed whole but it’s not necessary. Stir into chicken mixture and cook for another hour.
(The recipe says to cook for 30 minutes and my biscuits were not done at that point. One hour did the trick.)
I noticed as it cooked that it was a tiny bit thick, and the recipe said to add chicken broth if necessary. I was out of that, so I used chicken soup and it worked great. ;) I just put a bit in to make it a little creamier.

Today we went to the zoo with Charlotte's best friends Sophie and Campbell and her Mom happens to one of my best friends too. Pretty lucky, huh? I realized I didn't get one picture of Stephanie. Sorry. You guys are missing out on looking at one pretty lady.

Clean as a Whistle

The Land

Josh's family own land near Arcadia lake so we took advantage of this gorgeous day and had a picnic.

We told Charlotte you have to close your eyes and take it all in. Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the sounds of nature.

This is what Charlotte was picturing:

Charlotte said, "Awwwh, you are absolutely right Mom and Dad. It is truly breathtaking. I am one with the sound of nature. "

After we got that out of the way it was time to eat our sandwiches from Subway and watch Dad play with his deer stand.

I will leave you with this picture of me and my favorite gal. Happy Labor Day weekend!

Off Da Wagon

Mental Movie: As I write this post I am sitting in my elastic britches eating Josh's strawberry birthday cake as he watches the OU Football game.

Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly:
The Good: I am pre-baby weight
The Bad: Pre-baby weight is nothing to get excited about. I was a chub who couldn't fit in her clothes before I got pregnant and I purchased maternity jeans the week I found out I was expecting. Thank you, Charlotte.
The Ugly: I have ten more pounds to loose to be at a realistic and healthy weight. I have done nothing to accomplish this goal in weeks.

The truth is I have a totally new outlook of my weight loss than I did 6 months ago. After I had Charlotte I was really hard on myself and I wanted all the weight off immediately and when it didn't come off it made me mad at myself. Not anymore. It is no secret I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant. Was it too much weight? Not sure and I really do not care. I have a healthy baby girl and that is all I care about at this point. I am proud of myself that I have lost this much weight. If I could give any advice to Mothers to be is that don't be hard on yourself like I was. It is so not worth it. Remind yourself it took a full 9 months to gain the weight and chances are it will take that much to loose it. And if you are one of the blessed girls that loose it before you leave the hospital (I can name a few of you skinny bitches but I won't) than good for you!!!

So come Tuesday I am back on the pain train. Kinda... I still haven't worked out post Charlotte. Ok, who am I kidding???? Post high school. Wish me luck to eating healthy and practicing portion control.
