Gymnastic Bound

Charlotte starts gymnastics the end of the month. It even makes me laugh typing that out. I cannot imagine the bit in gymnastics. I will of course keep you posted. When the gym called to tell me she got in a class they said leotards are not required but suggested. Ummmmm.... excuse me.... Suggested? I don't thinks so.

Today I went and bought Charlotte two of I am sure many leotards to come. I tried one of them on her tonight and she looks like a living doll. She also immediately felt the need to perform once in attire. I caught some of our favorite moves on tape.

A compliment goes so far with Charlotte. She is thanking Harold for the compliments on the get up.

Turns out Charlotte loves old school Gospel music and dancing in front of a fan. I guess she likes the hair blown look.

Here are my two new favorite moves from Charlotte:

Music Monday

This is another one of those songs where I really like the lyrics. This song is almost more of a poem than a song in my opinion. As a new"ish"parent, I definitely relate more to this song than I used to.

Favorite lyrics:
And I pray my child lives happy and long,
And I hope she never will sing this song
And I pray, my child, live happy and long, Lord
And I hope she never will sing this song

Song: "Fear"
Artist: Paddy Casey

Nic's Grill

I have never been to Nic's in Oklahoma City before but I guess it is time. Last week, Colin Farrell was on Jay Leno and gave a shout out to Nic's for having a great cheeseburger.

You can view the video here:

Representing the Mom's

If someone was dumb enough to ask me what I did all day as a stay at home Mom I would probably back hand them or spit in their face; depending on the day. A friend recently posted this article on facebook and I think she couldn't have done a better job representing Mother's.

Music Monday

Oh don't worry, I didn't forget about good ole' Music Monday. I know you were so worried and didn't know what to listen to. Freight no more because I bring to you Snow Patrol. It brings you back to college, right? This song is a bit depressing but pretty nonetheless. I guess the heat is bringing my mood down.

Team USA

The Vaughn family is a HUGE Olympic fan. I don't know where it originally started but I always remember it being a huge deal with our family. Several years ago we took a trip to Park City, Utah and we were able to visit the site where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. It was beyond cool. They still use it for a training site for future Olympians.

This is a picture of skiers practicing ski jumps. For training they actually land in a large pool.

My Dad, Brother, Josh, and I got the crazy idea to ride the actual bobsled they used in the Olympics. They have put concrete on the shoot and let ignorant tourists sign their life away for a ride.

I am not kidding when I say it was the fastest and craziest thing I have ever done. The speed gets up to 70+ mph and 4 Gs and that happens FAST.  We all blacked out within seconds of the ride and I was so sore the next day from being tossed around like a ragdoll.

Here is a YouTube video of the "ride":

But two thumbs up to surviving:

With all of that said I am and my family is giddy that the Olympic games are beginning in 5 days.  I hope Charlie likes them as much as we do!

On a side note, Old Navy has darling Olympic t-shirts. You better bet the whole White Family (Charlotte included) and Vaughn Family has their shirts already.

Not So Dirty 30

In my early twenties I wasn't the girl who knew exactly what career path they wanted to follow and was always jealous of the girls who did. I would be happy doing a lot of things and that annoyed me. I kept thinking to myself "I just need to make it to thirty. When I am thirty I will have it all figured out and I will have everything by then".

So as I write this blog post it is my second night of being thirty and I have to say I was right. I do have it all figured out and I have everything. I have a husband who is my best friend, a beyond amazing family and in laws, spectacular best girl friends, and the most amazing gift from God; our Charlotte. My life might be pretty simple but it is exactly what this thirty year old prayed for. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me the next thirty years.

Meet Dorothy

Charlotte officially has her first very own pet; a beta fish.  I saw her interest peak when she met her friends Cannon and Crew's fish so I thought it was time for her to have one of her own. As a pet loving family Josh and I couldn't be more excited for this purchase. "Charlotte" came up the name Dorothy because it is Elmo's beloved fish's name. Naturally.

The big decision: What color?

Red it is!

I think she fits in just great at the White House

Field Trip Friday

We are so lucky that Josh gets every other Friday off with his job because it allows us to have days like today as a family.  The three of us went to the Oklahoma Science Museum. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. Charlotte went nonstop and wanted to see everything.

Healthy and Happy Girl

I don't believe it; I took Charlotte to the docs today for a follow up on her never ending ear infections and they actually look great! NO INFECTIONS. I am fully aware an infection, injury ,or molar is hiding in the closet but for this evening I am going to toast to a drama free toddler.

Poor thing doesn't know an ear check is minutes away:

Obviously, the doctor was taking way too long for this girl:

Music Monday

I love The Flaming Lips. It should be a requirement really if you live in Oklahoma City since they are from here. Their concerts are a hoot and a half and if you ever have the opportunity to go you should! You don't have to be a huge fan to enjoy it but be prepared for weirdness.

A picture from a recent concert. How fun, right?!

Dancing in the Car

As we all know Charlotte loves to dance and she doesn't let the car seat hold her back. I took these two videos this weekend:

We Love the 4th

Our family spent Wednesday to Saturday at Grand Lake with my family. It was wonderful family time and hard to come back.

On our way to see the fireworks show

Family Pic

Sass, Sass, Sass

Again, sass

Josh fishing under the fireworks

Clearly I am a fan of the nautical theme

Who is more pathetic?

Loved every second

Not sure if it is a good thing the bit isn't scared of anything

Okay, enough of the nautical but it is so damn cute

Watching her Uncle and Dad on the jet skis
Although we did have a fabulous time at the lake my heart was back home with my dear friend Stephanie. She had her baby, Burke, Sunday and he is resting and healing in NICU for a few days. I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this handsome man.

Look at those LIPS!

And It Is OFF

Music Monday

I have loved Citizen Cope for years and years and I also have a bit of a crush on him as well. Each of his songs are like short stories to my heart. I got the opportunity to meet him after a concert one time and he was so high he didn't know where he was but I am certain if he wasn't he would have fell in love with me too.

Song: "Son's Gonna Rise"

Fun in the Poo'

Charlotte was a bit nervous when we got her in the pool a few weeks ago so we wanted to take her back for round two today. She was such a water baby and loved it.
