Potty Trained For Now

This past weekend I tackled the awful task of potty training. To be honest Charlie was ready way before me. I have no problems with diapers and so I dragged my feet to change our routine. We started Friday and it was awful. She peed on the floor about a dozen times and after every time she would get super excited and ask for a sucker. After encouragement from Stephanie to try it again Saturday I mustered up the courage. I am so glad she told me that because it just clicked with her that day. Since Saturday we have had very minimal accidents and have even ventured out in public.

I am not naive and I know she will go through a phase were panties aren't cute but for now it is working.

Picking out panties (Minnie Mouse won)

Zero clothes on Friday

Helping paint her big girl bed

She refused to let me help her pull up her panties so this was the outcome

And demanded her Chloe purse and sunnies to potty

Kitchen Rug Update

In a previous post I mentioned we were struggling with making a decision on a rug for under our kitchen table. I loved an antelope print but I couldn't picture it in the house. After a lot of shopping around I bit the bullet and ordered the antelope. We picked it up today and I like it. I think it goes well with the colors and scheme of our house.

New House Update #2

This weekend was full of birthday fun and working on the house. I am so thankful things are very slowly coming together in the home front.

Josh replaced our door hardware and clearly it takes the whole family to oversee the project:

Also the dining room is coming together. We still need a rug and a buffet but this is certainly a start:

Beyonce Lover

Charlie recently became Queen B's biggest fan. Several times a day she will ask for "yonce" and give me her "put a ring on it" hand gesture. Tonight I put on the Single Lady video and Charlie did her best to learn the dance moves.

Her love for dancing still continues to say the least.

It's a Boy: For Sure!

My Mom and I went to stork vision yesterday to confirm the sex of Baby White. Although my gut strongly told me the babe was a boy I kept self doubting myself. Why do we do that? Anyways, the sonographer quickly and confidently confirmed baby White is in fact a BOY! Josh and I are really thrilled and starting to get giddy about the baby coming.

Told ya

Our living room

New House Update #1

We have been in our new home for about 3 weeks and I swear I love it more as each day goes by. The decorating and furniture purchasing has been slow but I thought I would share updates as they come along. Hopefully one day (forever away) I will look back at these pictures and cannot believe how far it has come.

Our kitchen area is pretty much done. The only main item left is to order a rug for under the kitchen table and I hope to do that this week. I fell in love with an antelope print, yes antelope, but I am a bit hesitant. I will post a picture of the swatch and please give me feedback as a nah or yay.

Here is the kitchen table area that is in need of a rug. Let me know about the antelope print, please.

The Fourth

The White House celebrated the fourth all day yesterday and to be honest probably went over board. I didn't make the best parenting decision when I made plans to go watch fireworks in my brothers neighborhood. We didn't get home from the celebration until after 11pm.  We had one tired girl and two tired parents. Lesson learned.

We did go to the Nichols Hills parade in the morning which was tiny and sweet. It was perfect but I would like to try Edmond's next year. Charlie loves a good parade.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well.
